Question: Will the Fire Service carry out a Fire Risk Assessment if I ask?

Answer: NO – Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 – Employers are responsible for carrying out their own Fire Risk Assessment and keeping it up to date.

Question: What is the difference between Hazard & Risk?

Answer: A hazard is something that can cause harm, e.g. electricity, chemicals, working up a ladder, noise, a keyboard, a bully at work, stress. 

A risk is the chance, high or low, that any hazard will actually cause somebody harm.

Question: Do I need a new Health & Safety Law Poster?

Answer: Yes - as of 5th April 2014 the old Law poster is obsolete and the new style should be:
